The Certified Enrollment Counselors (CECs) at the Berkeley Free Clinic help clients navigate the process of enrolling in health insurance and food benefits.

Specifically, CECs help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, subsidized Covered California Health plans, and CalFresh (food stamps). They also engage in clinic in-reach and community outreach to inform people about important provisions under the ACA, such as Medi-Cal expansion, enrollment periods, and the impacts of public charge legislation on immigration status.
