Sheltering in Place When You Don’t Have a Permanent Shelter

While the Clinic has established itself as a referral resource to utilize the Alameda County isolation emergency housing, the local groups The Village and East Oakland Collective have launched a fundraising campaign “Fill Hotels, Not Graves” to provide rapid housing in the form of hotel rooms for our unhoused community to allow them to shelter in place. Our grassroots efforts are allowing our community members most at risk to have the proper shelter they need. The Clinic upholds its belief that healthcare is a human right and not a privilege and will do everything in its power to make preventative care accessible.
