Shout Outs

We could not do all of this without the help of our amazing volunteers and community members. While our list is exhaustive, we would like to give a special shout out to some stellar folx in this issue.

From The Clinic

“Mukund R, for being a super present and welcoming medical point person when BFC Outreach finds individuals in encampments who have physical traumas requiring attention. Mukund, and others, are working to provide care that works for clients in their social/emotional/physical context, which sometimes means working more or working differently - literally every week it seems there are new people with new physical needs”

“Street Med Team trainees Jace and Dougie, who have been putting SO much labor into outreach, and who have stepped up to make some really incredible things happen since the start of our COVID-19 rapid response efforts. Dougie is coordinating the delivery of nearly a thousand meals per week to our unhoused clients, while Jace has been kicking ass as the driving force behind many of the projects we now have in place.”

And the Clinic’s book keepers who have responded to sudden City filing deadline changes and keep this whole show rolling.

Our Community Partners

To United Front Against Displacement, who have been working with us to get donations for building and maintaining hand washing stations.

West Oakland Punks With Lunch who hold it DOWN in the East Bay. You can follow them on Facebook and Instagram to see all the hard work they do every day, way before COVID-19. Partnering with them has allowed us to distribute countless meals and provide harm reduction kits.

And to the many local restaurants partnering with the Clinic and Luka’s initiative “Community Kitchens” to distribute HUNDREDS of meals every week.
